The Edinburgh Art Festival runs alongside the Edinburgh Festival itself in August and early September.

Although only formally established in 2004, it attracts some internationally-renowned visual artists to the many venues around the city in which it takes place, and has played host to retrospective exhibitions from the likes of Tracey Emin as well as original installation pieces around Edinburgh.
