Edinburgh Central Mosque opens its doors and warmly invites you to Islam Festival Edinburgh.
The exhibition offers a genuine insight into Islam including a dynamic experience of knowledge and culture. Enjoy talks, workshops, free literature, refreshments and a chance to meet your Muslim neighbours.
Free guided Mosque tours will give you the opportunity to discover the beautiful interior of the mosque, watch the prayer and ask all the questions you have about Islam.
Open daily 5th – 24th August 2017
12:00-18:00 (5th – 24th excluding Fridays).
14:30-18:00 (Fridays 11th and 18th).
Don’t forget to visit the neighbouring Mosque Kitchen for delicious food!
Imam Yahya Barry welcomed us to his mosque in 2016 and gave us a guided tour as part of the Festival last year. We were also honoured to be allowed to be present during prayer time and to take photographs.

During the Islam Festival in 2016, Haji Noor Deen, the Chinese Master Calligrapher, ran workshops and painted names by request in Arabic and Chinese
Volunteers are on hand at the Islam Festival to answer any questions or just to have a cup of tea and a chat.
And don’t forget to try out the adjoining Mosque Kitchen, or the one in Nicolson Square – it’s an Edinburgh institution!
