They say there’s no such thing as a free lunch… well Stag Barber Co. is here to prove them wrong and raise money for prostate cancer with ‘Undies Sunday’.
The Edinburgh barber shop is holding an event on Sunday 28th August 2016 where clients can pay whatever they want to for a haircut, as long as they enter the store in their underwear.
The staff at Stag Barber Co. will be taking walk in only bookings, and all contributions for the cuts will be entirely donated to Prostate Cancer UK.
Murray McRae, owner of Stag Barber Co. says, “Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men and it kills one man every hour in the UK. We care a lot about our clients’ health, and prostate cancer is something which could realistically affect them.”
“We’re fortunate because a lot of guys come in the shop, so we have a platform to discuss things like men’s health with them. To me, when you have that opportunity as a small business, you really have a responsibility to step up and use it.
“If just one guy goes out and gets his prostate checked as a result of this campaign, i’d be happy,” he said.
James Beeby, Director of Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, says “It’s fantastic to see that Stag Barber Co. has decided to organise Undies Sunday to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK. By doing this they are joining Men United and helping to make a real difference in furthering the fight against prostate cancer.
“Whatever you do together, big or small, you’ll be helping us push for real change, from more effective testing to better treatments. We thank Stag Barber Co. and wish them every success with their event.”
