Due to last night’s technical issues, the whole commission will run again tonight (Tuesday 6th August) from 10.30pm. We highly recommend you go and see it.

Visual artist Nalini Malani has developed a major new outdoor presentation of her highly acclaimed work, In Search of Vanished Blood, with Edinburgh Art Festival.  This evening, the artist transformed an iconic Scottish building and used large-scale projections and shadow play to cover the Western and Southern façades of the Scottish National Gallery on the Mound.

The choreographed succession of images of war, included actual film footage of the Cameron Highlanders marching to war and historic representations by other artists, together with a powerful soundtrack, created a mesmerising and deeply moving reflection on war and its impacts.

The work attracted audiences from across the city but unfortunately was cut short due to technical issues.
