NEWS – Lothian Buses introduce a new summer bus route

Lothian Buses are introducing a new service 28 from 6 July 2013 (Royal Botanical Gardens West Gate)

The new route will take you from Bristo Place to Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh via National Museum of Scotland, City Centre & Canonmills every 20 minutes from 1000 until 1740 on Saturdays & Sundays from 6 July until 15 September inclusive.

This is the first and only Lothian Buses service to take people directly to the Visitor Centre at the West Gate of the Royal Botanic Garden. Entry is free to the beautiful gardens and a perfect place to have a stroll or if you’ve little ones in tow, spot some squirrels.

New service 28, which was introduced as a result of passenger demand, is operated using diesel-electric hybrid double-decker buses.  This means that the buses have considerably reduced fuel usage and a carbon footprint typically 30-40% lower than a standard bus.

Through our work with hybrid buses and many other sustainable actions Lothian Buses were delighted to be awarded the title of Best Large Green Company in Scotland in 2012.
