Lothian Buses name It’s Good 2 Give as its Charity of the Year 2013
Edinburgh charity It’s Good 2 Give has today (4th March) been announced as Lothian Buses’ Charity of the Year for 2013. Those that attended the annual ball at the Sheraton Hotel on Saturday night were first to know about the new partnership as it featured in the ball programme.
Ian Craig, Managing Director of Lothian Buses, said: “Our staff raise thousands of pounds every year for good causes. Following a fantastic year working with Lothian Autistic Society, we have decided to make our Charity of the Year for this year another especially deserving, local children’s charity.
“It’s Good 2 Give is a fantastic charity carrying out amazing work supporting local children living cancer and their families. Launched in April 2010 the charity are very pro-active and have big ambitions not only to help local families but to build a purpose built retreat for young cancer patients and their families.”
The decision to appoint an official Lothian Buses Charity of the Year further underlines the bus operator’s commitment to support good causes in the local community.
Lynne McNicoll, Founder of It’s Good 2 Give, warmly welcomed the announcement, and commented: I am absolutely delighted that Lothian buses have chosen us as the local Charity they want to support in 2013 and we are all looking forward to working in partnership with them.
Ian Craig added: “I am very pleased that Lynne is keen to work with us. Hopefully we can help raise awareness of the work her charity does and help them achieve their goals.

Expect to see buses advertising the charity all across Edinburgh. Grant Stott is one of the patrons of It’s Good 2 Give as well as working with Lothian Buses.
It’s Good 2 Give is the charity that we’ve chosen to support since it started in 2010 and we’ll continue to do so in the coming years.
The Edinburgh Cake Ladies also fully support It’s Good 2 Give and hold fundraising events to raise money for the charity.
