Vintage Wedding Show at Mansfield Traquair, Sunday 4th November 2012, 11am – 5pm
The wonderful Vintage Wedding Show returns to the stunning venue of Mansfield Traquair (at the bottom of Broughton Street).
In conjunction with Heritage Portfolio, Scotland’s original Vintage Wedding Show is a stylish boutique wedding event set up for those looking for inspiration and something that little bit unique and quirky.
Showcasing vintage specialists in photography, film, flowers, cakes, dresses, accessories, hair, make-up, planners, stationery and cars, the Vintage Wedding Show offers brides the chance to add a little, or a whole lot, of vintage glamour to their big day.
There will be live music all day organised by Banana Row as well as a fantastic (G&) Tea Party from Heritage Portfolio, Edinburgh’s award-winning hospitality whiz kids.
Weddings are not what they used to be. Gone are the days of absolute tradition and carbon copy weddings. A modern bride styles and shapes her wedding day to reflect her own individuality. Combining the timeless elegance of yesteryear with a contemporary attitude makes weddings of today a very personalised affair.
Vera Wang, queen of all things wedding says “I see myself as a true modernist. Even when I do a traditional gown, I give it a modern twist. I go to the past for research. I need to know what came before so I can break the rules.”
The Vintage Wedding Show provides brides with a handpicked selection of wedding suppliers who appreciate the love, glamour and style of vintage. They are true experts in their field: from beautiful original bridal gowns from the 1930s through to stunning vintage-inspired designer-made dresses; from gorgeous costume jewels and accessories to original flower bouquets oozing with the romance of days gone by.
The Vintage Wedding Show organiser, Mel Jarron says, “The Vintage Wedding Show is not just for vintage lovers but also for the new bride to explore the beauty and romance of old style glamour. It may be a simple addition of a stunning piece of costume jewellery, a striking 1930s Bentley or a toe-tapping eight-piece swing band. Whatever she is looking for, inspiration is guaranteed!”
You can buy tickets now which will be waiting for you to collect on the day and enable you to enter via the ‘go-faster’ queue. There is currently also an offer via the Scotsman to get 2 for 1 tickets.
Tickets are also available on the door.
