REVIEW – Lights Out by The 10:04s

One of Edinburgh’s brightest and most promising bands, The 10:04s are back with their second single release Lights Out.

An atmospheric and dark brooder of a track, it flits in and out of the shadows of the likes of Editors and Joy Division, yet has enough distinction and angular energy to sound original. Guitar riffs shimmer like falling stars above a pumping rhythm section, as Steven Bolton laments the ‘simple things’ – the track may be a slow burner, but grows in smouldering intensity with each listen.

The sound of a band confident in its own skin, Lights Out shows that these lads’ future is anything but dark.
