Featuring a marriage of songs and anecdotes, Abi tells the story of how she came to be happily wed to her second husband. Yet those fearing a saccharine loved-up show needn’t worry: Abi is only too happy to reveal all the sordid details of her sex-addict first spouse, toe-curling internet dating episodes and the panic of crash-dieting to fit into her wedding dress.
Abi is a great performer: belting out self-penned tunes one moment, confiding in the audience in the front row in another; all wedded together with some ribald humour and accurate musical impressions.
All together, this is good value, light-hearted entertainment which – like Abi’s new-found love – has its heart very much in the right place.
