We can’t fault the place and The List and Gaby Soutar from the Scotsman agree, as does our friends over at the Sunday Brunch Club. Our food reviewer has been back several times since she dined there with us and also rates the experience highly.
Looking for somewhere to eat for a birthday lunch today, there was only one place that I wanted to head for and it had Mark Greenaway’s name above the door.
Taking advantage of the Market Menu (offer available at lunch times 12pm – 3pm and dinner 5.30pm – 6.45pm) we had a most enjoyable couple of hours in the restaurant. Two courses are £16.50 and 3 courses £20.
Please enjoy the pictures below and be assured that the food and service was nothing short of perfection. The Market Menu is an absolute steal for this price with the quality of food that is delivered. Mark Greenaway is more than a man to watch now, he’s up there with the best dining Edinburgh has to offer and you should kill for a table.

I’m sorry but the market menu have never been changed, I been there for business lunch a few times and not going back, why do I have to pay full price after 6:45 if still the same dish? Not fair at all.
Perhaps you should email Hawke and Hunter and ask them your question? I am sure their PR person would reply. The majority of restaurants charge more in the evenings compared to their lunch and pre-theatre menus as it’s peak time.
im sorry Thomas that the menu does not change on a regular enough basis for you, however we use the market menu as a “taster” of the dinner menu so we swap the dishes around, we don’t use cheaper products (as some restaurants do) and sell them at a lower price instead offer the dinner menu dishes at a discounted price so the customer can make a saving.
i am also glad that Miss Edinburgh had a great birthday
