PHOTO – Edinburgh from above

As much as we’d like to fly our own plane or helicopter over the city to bring you pictures from above, we’ll have to settle on a Ryanair flight into Edinburgh this evening.  We do pride ourselves on covering Edinburgh from every angle.

If you’re a tourist reading this and you get a choice on where to sit on a plane as you fly into Edinburgh, always choose the left hand side of the plane.  Occasionally the plane may land from the west (weather related) but normally you will approach Edinburgh airport from the east and fly out over the Forth and get a bird’s eye view of the Edinburgh coast line.

Granton harbour is the main view here, with Broughton FP's Rugby Club grounds clear on the middle left. The group of trees above there is the Botanical Gardens and the splodge above that is Edinburgh Castle.
