Newhaven branch review
Prezzo is a national chain of Italian restaurants and the Edinburgh branch is situated down at Newhaven harbour. For warmer days, there is seating outside, but the twice I visited, the weather dictated I should sit inside the stylish restaurant.
My friend and I took advantage of one of the many offers that Prezzo run from time to time, which was a starter, main and a drink for £10 which is exceptionally good value.
I chose the starter of deep fried mozzarella in breadcrumbs with pomodoro sauce and my friend had soup. My dish was generous in size and a good start to the main course ahead.
It was an early dinner during the week, so the restaurant was quite empty, but as other diners came in, the waiting staff spread everyone out which I liked, so we could chat away without worrying about other diners hearing us.
For the main course, I had roasted goats cheese on focaccia with roasted peppers and salad which was fabulous and tingled all my tastebuds with the mixture of flavours. My friend chose the lasagne which was a good size and full of meat and cooked perfectly without the pasta layers being tough.
Verdict? A wonderful meal at exceptionally good value. Prezzo run these offers to attract customers and it worked with us as we returned for Sunday lunch not long after this review’s visit.
