The first Stockbridge Giraffe Parade has begun.
Last night saw the first Stockbridge Giraffe Parade take place which saw the decorated animal models take to the streets. Many businesses in Stockbridge have taken part, but the idea originated from the art studio Kiss the Fish.
There is an auction in mid-December for the Giraffes with proceeds going to CHILDREN 1ST and LifeCare Edinburgh.
You can get involved by taking part in the Giraffe Parade Trail which is available for £1 from Kiss the Fish and The Laurel Gallery. Visit 34 shops with giraffes to get the clue (from the window) to complete a sentence to enter the draw to win one of the stars of the parade. This makes an ideal activity for children (and adults!) as they follow the map and search the shops and streets of Stockbridge.
An excellent idea from the community and businesses which is fun for all the family. As well as the ones on the trail, there are many other giraffes to spot around Stockbridge, including 3 at Napiers Herbalists and the giraffe at Redwood Restaurant, which decrated with the help from some P4 pupils from Flora Stevenson’s.
There is a video of the Giraffe Parade on Deadline Scotland.
