Edinburgh’s latest independent coffee and sandwich emporium has opened its doors. Owned by Sean Wood, Tollcrust is causing a stir with its rich-flavoured cuppas, healthy nosh and eye-catching interior. The graffiti-splashed snackery near the heart of the city’s Tollcross, serves up full-bodied coffee from as little as £1 and prides itself on using locally sourced breads – including herb ciabattas and bagels for its mouth-watering sarnies.
Lunch is made to order from a fresh delicious range of cold meat, cheese, veg and sauce combinations which can be eaten on the premises or taken away.
There’s even a big screen TV showing cult films whilst you wait/eat and loyalty cards offer a free coffee or cake after a handful of purchases. We look forward to trying out the food here and will report back our findings. Tollcrust – the coffee alchemist – is open 8am-4pm Monday through Friday and 10am-2pm on Saturdays.
