FRINGE REVIEW -The Goldilocks Zone, Dancebase

11-22 Aug, times vary @ Dance Base

The Goldilocks Zone tells the story of an Irish space mission to communicate with aliens on a distant planet which is “not too hot, not too cold, but just right” – hence the name! Legitimate Bodies Dance Company are best known for creating a comical contact-improvisation piece inspired by the Northern Ireland peace process, so it is no surprise that this is a lighthearted show.
With some pleasingly low-tech props and a rather shambolic approach, this is an undemanding and family friendly show, and could hit a perfect note with audiences who have exhausted more serious dance offerings.

Indeed this feels more like physical theatre than dance and more like comedy than physical theatre. Although there are some nods to classical dance styles, this is a silly, chaotic show that will appeal to anyone – dance fans or not – who just wants to switch off from the Fringe and have fun for awhile.
