13 – 30 Aug (not 16 or 23)
1755-1855, Udderbelly’s Pasture
It’s circus, but not as we know it.
A deranged neurotic ringmistress, a strongman of wavering sexuality and an international acrobat who isn’t always fully in on the act: the trio of characters from Australia’s Circus Trick Tease have the firm belief they are in the Greatest Show on Earth…even when things go hilariously (and intentionally) awry.
This is entertaining, amusing and impressive from the word go. The show speeds past as we see feats of strength, balancing and acrobatics, all punctuated with some genuinely clever and funny moments.
The performers are not only skilled when it comes to performing their impressive feats, but also possess great comic timing, ensuring the show is filled with as many laughs as there are gasps from the audience. And, although they may not have the polish or skills of a Cirque Du Soleil, their shambolic style and charm is just as entertaining.
Sweaty, raunchy and great fun, Circus Trick Tease is a show it’s well worth rolling up to.
