Want free Fringe Tickets?
Well, Theatre Ninjas and their mobile app (and accompanying website) are here to help…
The concept is simple: half an hour before a participating show is due to start, if it’s not sold out, they’ll post the fact free tickets are available to anyone who can make it along in time.
Details will be available on the Theatre Ninjas website, but also on the iPhone app, meaning you can check it whilst out and about (or inside and inebriated) and see what’s on offer.
The app will also contain details about the shows, the number of tickets available, maps to the venues and links to reviewson Twitter.
The concept is the brainchild of a group of young like-minded folk with a background in theatre and arts, and was developed by Red C, aided by a £1,000 grant from Ideas Tap, an organisation set up to help young entrepreneurs.
It sounds like a great idea to us and everyone’s a winner – shows have the potential to play to packed audiences, and punters have the chance to jam-pack their Fringe days and nights with shows for free.
(And, of course, whilst you’re there, you could always download iEdinburgh, Edinburgh Spotlight’s very own iPhone app…)
