Warrender Swim Centre in Marchmont holds a special place in our hearts, as it is where one of us learned to swim many many years ago. He still has his ‘Tadpole’ badge to prove it…
Now, after an extensive 6-month refurbishment, this historic listed swimming baths and fitness complex is reopen to the public.
First established in 1886, the centre has been a popular fixture of the local community ever since and has produced several swimming stars, most notably 1976 Montreal Olympics gold medallist David Wilkie.
As well as the pool, Warrender also features a sauna and fitness centre with the latest gym equipment, as well as trained staff who are able to provide coaching and training for swimmers of all ages and abilities.
Now that Warrender is back in full operation, they are offering a special 6-week fitness membership for only £50 – perfect for those who may be looking to stay in shape during the Festival period!
With its proximity to the university and places like the Pleasance and the Meadows in the south side of the city, it offers an ideal fitness centre for those based nearby.
The special offer allows unlimited access to the pool, gym and sauna and is available to buy right up until 31st August 2010.
