As part of the Edinburgh Internationl Film Festival, Tilda Swinton encouraged the residents of Edinburgh to join her in a jig in Festival Square this morning. Ms Swinton and Mark Cousin lead a “flash mob” in a rendition of a classic Laurel and Hardy comedy dance routine. She enjoyed it so much, that she immediately clapped her hands to encourage everyone to dance for a second time. There were people aged from 8 to 80 that joined in and it was to mark the launch of a new foundation to encourage youngsters to broaden their taste in movies – called 8 1/2.
