FRINGE PREVIEW – S1L3NC3 Mind Reader

S1L3NC3

There’s nothing I like better than finding new and interesting shows performing at the Edinburgh Fringe and this one caught my eye immediately.  I can’t work out if I am going to be enthralled or terrified – but I am looking  forward to seeing this over the first weekend.   We caught up with the man behind SIL3NC3 – known only as ‘S’ and asked him a few questions.

Tell us a little bit about your show – where’s it happening, what’s it about, why should people come to see it?

S1L3NC3: Mind Reader is an intimate show that has been about 3 years in full development.

It is essentially a Mind Reading show with a difference where you get to know S1L3NC3, everything from eating razor blades to playing live russian roulette with staple guns.

The score to the show is especially mixed and mastered, with input from some of the biggest electro artists out there at the moment including Justice, Boys Noize & Erol Alkan.

It is a very dark show, with no direct speech, so it is not recommended for the faint-hearted or children under 16.  The show is on at 2210 hrs from 6th-21st August at Surgeon’s Hall

How will you be promoting your show?

S1L3NC3 will be performing at a few of the cabaret showcase events, and you might find yourself receiving a memo about the show, straight to your pocket.

“What better place to do it but at the Edinburgh Fringe?

And what are you hoping for?

It will hopefully be as incredible as everyone has described it to us.

This is your first time in Edinburgh, what are you expecting?

The show has been created many times in underground performances in London and Berlin, so it is time to take it to the public, where better a place to do it but at the Edinburgh Fringe?

If money was no object, what publicity stunt would you do to promote your show?

A total blackout of the city, complete with sirens and alarms.

Who else are you planning or hoping to see?

I haven’t yet managed to catch Frisky & Mannish, so they are top priority.

What do you have planned for after the Fringe?

Going to Berlin to put the show on in an old swimming pool…

Sum up your show in three words for us
