FRINGE PREVIEW – Patti Plinko & the Boy – All is Unravelling (Assembly Hall)

Aug 12th, 19th & 26th only, 8.20-9.20pm

Patti Plinko and the Boy

Patti Plinko and the Boy

Like some sideshow act of The Greatest Show On Earth, Patti Plinko and The Boy create swirling carnivalesque music about the forgotten and the lost; the lovelorn and the disaffected.

Yet their songs sparkle and spin with carousel excitement and dreamlike energy, and are filled as much with joy and passion as they are with bewitching darkness.

Patti purrs, yelps and hollers through a collection of arresting and immediate songs, accompanied by the mysteriously mute Boy on acoustic guitar. Whether strumming at her ukulele or beating on a saucepan with a drumstick, Patti gives herself over to the music, which swirls around the pair – joined by violin and backing guitar – to create a deliciously surreal and unique atmosphere.

Back in Edinburgh for another year after a sell-out run in London, All is Unravelling promises to give another rare glimpse into the irresistibly seductive place Patti and The Boy call home. Appearing for three nights only at the Assembly Hall on the Mound, spend a Thursday evening in their company and slip into a world of dark, whiskey-soaked decadence and bohemian glamour.
