La Cantina in Leith gets a hard time on other review sites but the twice I have visited, I couldn’t find fault with either the food or the service. We were warmly welcomed one cool spring evening and asked if we had dined there before. We said no and the waiter explained the menu to us and the spicy rating of food that we could choose.
I plumped for the sizzling fajitas which were generous in size and came with ample tortillas, sour cream, guacamole and cheese. My friend chose a burrito which was packed full of ingredients and satisfied her appetite with no complaints.
We chose dessert, which is perhaps where La Cantina’s standards fall a little. I can’t remember the last time I ate squirty cream in a restaurant, but it was a retro experience. The actual waffle was good and would be a sure fire hit with children.
No complaints for the food from us, La Cantina doesn’t claim to be an upmarket restaurant, but is welcoming to their diners and can throw a mean party!
