EVENT – Come and Sing Messiah, 6 June, St Mary’s Cathedral

The choir of St Mary’s Cathedral invite singers of all ages and abilities to join them on Sunday 6th June for a performance of Handel’s Messiah.

This is your chance to join the acclaimed choir of the cathedral – who are unique in Scotland for practicing every day – in a performance of one of Handel’s best-loved works.

Starting with a picnic in the grounds of the cathedral at midday, the afternoon will consist of two rehearsals with the choir (conducted by Gordon Stewart, a regular on BBC’s Songs of Praise). This will be followed by a public performance of the piece at 6pm that same evening.

Tickets are priced at £12 (£5 for under 18s) and there is the opportunity to ‘sponsor a chorus’ for £40. Funds raised will go towards future musical projects at the cathedral and its adjoining Music School.
