EVENT – Family workshops at the Museum of Childhood

Children enjoying the Museum

Children enjoying the Museum

Edinburgh’s Museum of Childhood is one of our favourite museums in the city, and we can remember spending many a happy hour here in our younger days, marvelling at its wonderful collection of toys from days gone by.

Well worth a visit at any time of the year, the next two months see a couple of special events taking place, guaranteed to keep the kids amused.

The first, on Saturday 20th February is Noah’s Animals, where museum artist Lucy Stock will lead children on a trail around the galleries, hunting for all creatures great and small within. Lucy will then help the children create an animal collage based on what they’ve seen.

This workshop runs twice on the 20th; in the morning from 10.30 – 12.30 and again in the afternoon from 1.30 – 3.30. Booking is essential and places cost £4 per adult / child.

Places must also be booked at the event on the 27th March, A Very Special Teddy Bear’s Picnic. Here Lucy will again help children create some unique artwork, this time a pastel still life of teddy bears enjoying a tea party, complete with miniature teacups and bowls of juicy strawberries!

The Teddy Bear’s Picnic also runs twice on the 27th, times and prices as for Noah’s Animals above.
