James Mason and son’s bakery on Starbank Road in an old Edinburgh insitution which is still extremely popular with residents and local businesses alike.
They sell everything you can think of related to the bakery world, but the highlight for me is their bran scones and mince pies.
This visit, I got a couple of plain rolls, a chocolate donut, a bran scone and an empire biscuit for the total of £1.21.
Open early in the morning and catering to other shops, the smell that wafts out of their door would entice anybody inside for a ‘wee look’. Prices are cheap for the standard of baked goods on offer.
If you’re down in that neck of the woods, then pop in for your bakery needs, you won’t be disappointed.
