REVIEW – Cafe Renroc, Montgomery Street

*****

Cafe Renroc sits on the corner of Montgomery Street and West Montgomery Place.  It’s a delightful licensed cafe / bistro serving a fabulous selection of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner (open late Wednesday – Saturdays).

In the basement, Nevo beauty salon takes its’ place – offering a wide selection of treatments and massages.  What a perfect combination – relaxation with food and drink before or after (or both).

I popped in for a morning cuppa along with a read of the complimentary papers.  My masala tea was beautiful and I took it without milk, but you can have it as a chai.  Obviously I had something sweet, today opting for rice krispie cake (the oldies are the best) but had I waited 10 more minutes, the freshly delivered carrot cake or chocolate brownie would have been my first choice.

There is always a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant, with friendly staff and soothing music.  I sat upstairs today to enjoy the light streaming through the windows, but there are only two tables.  The rest are nestled downstairs in the cozy basement with differently sized tables and chairs with wonderful decoration.

As I read the paper, I noticed how popular the place was with locals, nipping in to get their usual coffee (with the staff knowing their order).  I can’t wait to go back again to try some of the fabulous meals on the menu and relax and unwind.

The location of Renroc is shown below, but is just a short stroll from Leith Walk and away from the hustle and bustle. Well worth a visit.
