Christmas is just around the corner – and so is Santa!
From 12th – 23rd December, Father Christmas and his reindeer will be making their home in West Princes Street Gardens, with loads of activities, events and attractions.
Aimed at the younger members of the family, Santa’s Gardens opens on the 12th with an afternoon of festivities, the highlight of which is the Royal Blind Children’s Lantern Parade, gathering at 3.30pm at the Ross Bandstand and leaving at 4.30pm. This parade ends in welcoming the arrival of the man in the red suit himself!
From the 13th, Santa will be making daily appearances (1pm and 4pm) to decide whether Edinburgh’s children have been bad or good, and to feed his reindeer based nearby.
Additional attractions include Santa’s Postbox, where children can post letters to Mr Claus; the charming Santa Express train which offers trips around the gardens; and the colourful Igloo Village, packed with events, activities and stories for the kids to enjoy.
With the festive bustle and excitement of the Winter Wonderland in East Princes Street Gardens, Santa’s Gardens provides a quieter – and some might say more magical – Christmas experience for the whole family to enjoy.
Edinburgh Spotlight has been good all year, so we’ll be paying Santa a visit as soon as we can.
Additional entertainment on the day:
