Zanzero in North West Circus Place, Stockbridge is the sister restaurant of Centotre in George Street and The Scottish Cafe at the National Galleries.
It’s bright and airy inside and is very child friendly. There is a kiddies menu which will appeal to them, with fun activities to do on paper whilst waiting on the food. For everyone else, there is a huge extensive Italian menu offering pizza, pasta, salad and meats. There is sure to be something for everyone’s taste.
Open from 10am every day for breakfast and lunch is served from 12 noon. You can BYOB for £4 corkage at any time and they even offer a home delivery service every evening from 5pm.
I have eaten at Zanzero before, but this review covers a quick coffee and cake one afternoon whilst shopping in Stockbridge.
We opted for one of their cupcakes, baked freshly every day at Centotre and stored in a wonderful cake cabinet. We had a cappuccino, £2 and a pot of breakfast tea, £1.85 alongside a carrot cupcake and a raspberry one.
Both the coffee and tea were good, with the pot providing 2 -3 cups. The carrot cupcake was fine, but not exceptional, but the raspberry one was as good as it looked. It was wonderfully moist within and was over all too soon.
A great little place to stop off for afternoon tea and cake or a glass of wine. Edinburgh Spotlight is eating here very soon again, and will be reporting on their meal.
Suitable for disabled ? There is seating through the back with accessible toilet, but you would have to phone in advance to reserve a table so you weren’t place in the raised seating at the front
