REVIEW – Salt Of The Earth

Salt of the Earth

Salt of the Earth

Salt of the Earth is a stunning collection of Craig Mackay’s candid photographs of Scots and international figures with Scottish connections at the National Museum in Chambers Street.

Housed in the special exhibtion gallery on level three, the portraits range from Sir Chris Hoy to John Byrne.  There are 20 subjects , but several more photographs in all sizes.  They have been captured beautifully.

There is also ‘a pinch of salt’, which is a short video which provides the insight into the development of the Salt of the Earth project which has been several years in the making.

The exhibition is well worth a visit alone, but make sure you make time to spend exploring the museum as well.  Three of the photos are currently on display outside the museum so resist looking until you are inside to get the true effect of the exhibition.
