It may be the first negative review the owner has received but it shouldn’t have been. I wasn’t impressed with the pancakes either and if you read The List’s view of the cafe, they say they’re dry aswell

Very surprised indeed at this negative review. I visit this coffee shop most days and have always recieved nothing less than excellent service and always friendly and attentive staff.
The quality of food is also very high, i have over the years sampled most of the products on offer and have always been completely satisfied.
Hopefully you will make another visit.

Wow, I am certainly shocked and embarrassed to read such a negative review of my coffee shop. I do not want to make excuses because my pancakes are usually extremely well received. I would urge you to come back to visit me (Joe) so that i can personally make you some pancakes to my family’s recipe.
I am appalled to hear that one of my servers handled your complaint in such a disgraceful way and i can assure you that i will be investigating this matter further.
I have been running my cafe for 4 years, and this is the first negative review i have ever received and would very much like the opportunity to apologise to you in person.
Thank you for your time in writing this review, i have taken all of your comments on board.
