The official programme for St Andrew’s Day celebrations happening over Edinburgh has just been announced.
In St Andrew Square Gardens, there will be a whole host of activities for all the family. Best of all, everything is FREE. You can learn from Scotland’s Past, enjoy the cookery zone and soak up all the music and entertainment.
Highlights include
Saturday 28th November – Homecoming Art Car Parade, 3pm onwards
This amazing parade will see eccentric illuminated art cars weaving their way from Parliament Square to a stunning stage show finale in St Andrew Square
Sunday 29th November – Massed Pipes & Drums, 2-3pm
Listen to the rousing sound of the pipes as the bands march from Edinburgh’s City Chambers up the Royal Mile to play en-masse on the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade.
Sunday 29th November – Scottish Film Showcase, 11am onwards
Edinburgh’s Filmhouse presents an entertaining mix of Scottish shorts and feature films to celebrate St Andrew’s Day. Ticketing details to be announced shortly.
Sunday 29th November – Nativity Carol Concert, 4pm
St Andrew Square Gardens is the venue for the Edinburgh Christmas Nativity Scene and Carol Concert, featuring a chorus from Exile Gospel Choir with support from St Peter’s Primary School Choir.Monday 30th November – St Andrew’s DO Fireworks, 7pm
A spectacular fireworks display from Edinburgh Castle to celebrate our National Day and the finale to the Year of Homecoming. Watch from West Princes Street Gardens
