The Filmhouse Cafe/ Bar on Lothian Road is a gem of a place, even for those not going to a movie. I used the Filmhouse for a business meeting on a weekday morning.
Open from 10am every day and serving food till 10pm and drinks till 11.30pm and later on weekends – makes it a busy place with a variety of clientele streaming through its’ doors.

At 10am, I ordered beakfast drinks and shared the area with pensioners, mothers with their babies and other professionals. I made good use of the free wifi (not password protected, so not 100% secure).
Their lunch and evening food is imaginative and reasonably priced with something suitable on the menu for everyone and a good vegetarian selection
Good coffee and tea, with a wide range of soft drinks and for those with a sweet tooth, an excellent choice of tray bakes and scones.
This place gets really busy on the weekends, but I love the atmosphere in the air here and the staff are friendly and efficient.
