Perfect for when walking home after a festival show, or any time of the year for that matter is a ‘chippy’ from the famous L’Alba D’oro chip shop on Henderson Row (a short walk down Hanover Street). It’s also been awarded 4 stars by the Scottish tourist board !!!
I am stuck in my ways and always go for a white pudding or sausage supper when I visit here and save my fish suppers for when I am travelling around Scotland.
At £3.20, a very reasonably priced cholesterol-on-a-plate but a neccesity from time to time in the Scottish diet 😉 They do a huge menu and a good selection of fish, haggis, pies and pizzas. They also do over 300 bottles of wine !! You can take your supper out, or sit in at one of the window seats. Make sure you try some proper chippy sauce (it’s an Edinburgh thing, not even Scottish) which is brown sauce and vinegar carefully mixed together to get a mouthwatering flavour !!
I am getting hungry again just thinking about it. Thumbs up from me, this is my chippy of choice
Suitable for disabled ? Yes, on ground level
