Nipped up to the Castle the other day to get my Historic Scotland membership whilst you can still get 18 months for the price of 12 – previous post HERE.
Had a quick 10 minutes in the Castle (since all my entries are now free with my pass) and saw this lady painting the cannons. I spoke to her and she told me that they have to get done every 2-3 years due to people sitting on them for their photographs.
I told her that I had been guilty of that over the years – how can you resist climbing on an actual cannon at Edinburgh Castle ? You can’t ! Just make sure the paint is dry first
