Today I helped Myeloma UK run a hydration station for part of the Albert Bartlett Edinburgh Marathon 2009
I just want to express my admiration for all those who took part in such hot conditions and I hope that the spectators encouraging runners helped a little. A lot of people were running for charities, and raising lots of money for causes close to their hearts.
Everyone who manned a water station was a volunteer and there was a great sense of community out there today. A big thank you to everyone who I worked alongside, opening many many bottles of water and shouting out ‘lucozade’ a few thousand times !!
Who would have thought that the weather would have been so sunny ? I really take my hat off to all those that finished at Musselburgh race course, especially those running in fancy dress / firefighter gear / marine uniform with kit bag ! If you’re not going to run next year, then why don’t you try volunteering at the marathon ?
I Love Edinburgh is very admirable of you all
