I am still getting over jet lag after my recent trip down under, so when I woke with the birds this morning and saw what a beautiful day it was, I took advantage and headed up town for a wander. It was 7am !! Took in the Castle, Royal Mile and down to the Parliament.
If you’re a visitor to town, I really suggest you make the most of your jet lag and empty streets for enjoying the peacefulness that Edinburgh can have and of course, photos are perfect without people in them

I love Edinburgh early in the morning! Many times in the past I’ve arrived home on an overnight train and tip-toed up the Waverley Steps onto a near deserted Princes Street. The city has a magical quality at that time of the day – before the streets are ‘well aired’ as an elderly relative used to say.
